Funtastic was established in 1994 and is one of Australia's and New Zealand's leading distributors of children's products.
 
 

Since listing, we have continued to enhance our position as the pre-eminent children’s products company in Australia through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, namely that of JNH Australia- previously Funtastic's major competitor in Nov 2002 (effective July 02), and Toy & Hobby in September 2002. In 2003, Funtastic acquired one of Australia’s largest apparel distributors in Australian Horizons. In October 2005, Funtastic acquired Dorcy Irwin a major player in the toy industry, which cemented our position as the largest toy company in the Australian market place.

2006 saw the exciting acquisition of Madman, a leading independent distributor of DVD products into retail and rental stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. Madman is also a leading distributor of local and foreign films and had a highly successful 2006 with the huge launch of Australian film KENNY. In the same year Funtastic acquired Mike & Jack confectionery, a distributor of licensed, branded and novelty confectionery, further consolidating Funtastic's position in this product category.

In 2007 Funtastic completed the acquisition of Judius, a leading distributor of toys and educational products to the childcare industry and specialty retailers. In addition the company entered into a long term relationship with ABC Learning Centres Limited to supply product on an exclusive basis for an initial term of 20 years.

Funtastic currently has 12 main product categories divided into 4 key areas of business; Toys and Sporting, Nursery and Confectionery, Softgoods and Entertainment (Madman, Publishing and Interactive Games). Licensed brands form a major part of Funtastic's business and many of the world's hottest licenses have found a home at Funtastic. Classic brands like Thomas the Tank Engine™, Bob the Builder, The Wiggles™ and Winnie the Pooh™ along with recent market leaders such as Tamagotchi™, Bratz™, Robosapien™ and Leapfrog™.

Funtastic has also expanded into the New Zealand marketplace via the strategic acquisition of Planet Fun in 2005; a major toy-children's product company in New Zealand.
